1) COLOUR ENERGY FOR BODY AND SOUL

Many people have written books on colour: Sir Isaac Newton, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Faber Birren, Rudolf Steiner, and hundreds of contemporary authors. They have all introduced the same idea in the best way: Colour is energy. Book stores have hundreds of books on this theme and if, after having read this introduction, you are interested in learning more about colour, I would recommend you go to the nearest book store. But now I would like to tell you a little about colour and light.
Colour is more than decoration and pleasure to our eyes. It is light-light split into different wave lengths, vibrating at different speeds and frequencies. An object that absorbs all wavelengths and does not reflect any is called black-and an object that reflects everything is white. Between black and white lies our colour world. Colours are wavelengths of energy that to us appear as colours because of the potential and capability of the object to either absorb or reflect the energy. This is how we experience colour. An apple is red because it absorbs all colours except red. Red also has the longest wavelength of all the colours.
The strangest thing is that scholars ignore the colour energies and do nothing with the most exciting and beautiful things we have in front of our eyes-but they have accepted the short and long wavelengths on either side of the visible colour spectrum.

These points are what it is all about-either physically, mentally, emotionally, or spiri- tually. If these points are healthy and in balance, then we are healthy. It is important when you are going to transfer energy from one chakra to another that you know what colour is the complementary colour, i.e. with what colour you may be adjusted.
We are born with the opportunity to make use of all colour energies, and we develop according to a colour scale-from birth in the palest pink, to red in puberty, and as years pass by and experience comes, towards the violet in old age. Our aim should be to leave this life in beautiful pastel shades with a tinge of white and gold.
At any rate, man is a beautiful and fascinating sight to people who can see through other eyes other than those with which we have been taught to see.
The colour energies that surround us are an ever changing picture of sparkling colours, which reflect how we are inside ourselves. Everything from physical health to emotional and mental circumstances show through the colours of our aura.
When all our chakras are in balance, we display all the colours of the rainbow clearly and evenly. If there are disturbances on any level this shows in our chakras. This means that the energies do not flow evenly and smoothly along our spine-something is wrong. And what can we do about it?
First of all we are concerned with balance-being balanced. Throughout our whole life we must strive for balance-train and exercise so that the body may be harmonized mentally, emotionally, and physically. Colour energy works both in a positive and a negative way. By knowing ourselves and our positive and negative sides we may achieve balance by adding more energy of same colour or by adding another colour energy (usually the complementary colour). For example, a person who has a lot of the red energy dominating her/his being and who admits that in some situations she/he becomes more and more hotheaded, arrogant, and domineering, would tune down her/his unbalanced chakra with energies from the green colour. Go for a walk in the woods, take a green bath, put on a green sweater, and eat more green foods. On the whole, try to dampen the negative red energy-bring it into balance. In the opposite case, a person who in her/his daily life leads an introverted, closed up life with self-pity and little gratitude for her/his existence, needs the red energy.
By using colour more consciously these apparently small changes could be the little extra you need to help yourself out of a situation you are unable to manage. Many unnecessary deeds and hap- penings might be avoided if you are in balance. Remember there are actually no really bad human qualities, but there are unbelievably many unbalanced people. Use colours and get to know yourselves-be conscious of how you use colours and why-ask your- self why there are certain colours you don't like.
Little children love colours-let them enjoy and explore the colours they have feelings for-but I would not recommend strong colour baths-unless they are used therapeuti- cally. Pastel baths are the right thing-try to mix the pale pastel shades. All pink shades are good. Also be careful when adding oils to the bath-unless the child is ill and the bath is used for therapy.
Children and young people are under the influence of the red and orange colour energies and need more inspiring and relaxing baths. A green or blue bath to relax, and a yellow before exams perhaps.
