Did you know that when you are enjoying the sun’s rays that every colour is shining on you from Red to Violet? Sunlight contains an array of electromagnetic frequencies... colour is part of that.

The sun’s solar power stimulates our complete endocrine system, which is connected to our physical neuro-endrocrine centres and our invisible energy centres (often referred to as chakra centres). It’s the individual colour wavelengths that when combined produce white light and vice versa. And it’s the individual electromagnetic colour wavelengths that affect each endocrine gland.

Furthermore, each endocrine gland secretes hormones that overall influence our feelings, thoughts and wellbeing. The more active a gland, the greater the increase in its hormonal production which in turn will cause a certain type of behaviour or mood. For example, if our adrenals are hyperactive we may feel overly excited, physically stronger and ready for a fight. Versus when our adrenals are fatigues we may feel lethargic, disconnected and fearful.

Based on many altering repercussions, including and not limited to: hereditary factors, dietary habits, sleeping patterns, personality tendencies, life experiences, etc., the flow of an individual’s endocrine and energy system is uniquely different. As well, every organ and brain region interconnect with each gland and energy centre.

In addition, the various frequencies of the electromagnetic wavelengths that exist within us pulsate outwardly, creating our personal colour-coded energy field (aura). The different colour combinations are distinct to each human being as the colours in our aura actually tell a story of our health, mental and emotional wellness, and even our beliefs. This means that our thoughts and well being is colour coded.

Hue Are You?

When I teach about the “personality” of colour, I try to explain how our different colour intelligence centres think, emote, act and so on. For example, people who have an abundance of “red” operate from a practical and realistic point of view. Whereas, orange comes more from an emotional, sensing point of view and yellow from a mental, intellectual point of view.

In fact, it is these three colours that connect more to a physical, emotional and mental world with their perspectives. The heart chakra is the bridge between the physical and more spiritual realms. Although all colours have a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual connection, it is the colours of red, orange and yellow that are linked to the more earthly dynamics of our being.

Over 80% of North Americans have a weak red intelligence centre based on our Colour Energy Personality Test studies (also validated on the Biopulsar). Only 2% are actual “red” people. Over the past 100 years, the percentage of innately born red people have naturally died or been energenetically decreased. Thus, we don’t have many positive red people to study from so we need to teach about the red so we don’t disconnect from this valuable life force.

With the computer age we will see a lot more root imbalances. We can already see the younger generations rely more on wireless communications, both for work and recreationally, which contributes to amplifying the crown and brow intelligence centres.

It is now quite common for me to see more stress, higher and lower frequencies imbalances, and much more dehydration and depression in the aura. Could this be resultant of the increase of EMF’s in our atmosphere and fake foods in our diet; and even the decrease of natural sunlight we receive from working indoors?

Vitamin B12, also known as cobalamin, is an essential nutrient that is a member of the B-complex vitamins. B12 is the largest and most structurally complex of all known vitamins. There are several forms of vitamin B12, all of which are termed “cobalamins” because they contain the trace mineral cobalt in their nucleus structure. Some forms of B12 are not immediately bioavailable and your body must use enzymes to convert them to a usable form. However, methylcobalamin and hydroxocobalamin (5-deoxyadenosylcobalamin) forms are highly bioavailable.

Where Can You Get Vitamin B12?

Your body doesn’t make vitamin B12, you need to get it through your diet or by supplementation. It’s found mostly in foods of animal origin such as meat, fish, and eggs. Even though only bacteria and archaea can synthesize B12, animals integrate B12 into their tissues via bacterial symbiosis, which is why animal foods are naturally the richest source of B12. Fortified foods and supplements are also common sources of the nutrient.

Why You Need Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12 plays an important role in a number of ways. The body functions that rely on adequate B12 include:

Brain and nervous system health via myelin sheath function
DNA synthesis
Red blood cell formation
Healthy cell metabolism (of nearly every cell in your body)
Cardiovascular health
Individuals with the MTHFR gene mutation may be at a higher risk for elevated homocysteine levels. When homocysteine levels are higher than normal, osteoporosis, blood clots, and atherosclerosis are common symptoms. Dietary intervention via vitamin B12 supplementation (as well as folate and B6) is necessary for bringing homocysteine levels back into balance.

How Much Vitamin B12 Do You Need?

The Institute of Medicine and Food and Nutrition Board — the premiere scientific health bodies officially sanctioned by the U.S. government on matters of nutrient intake — set daily recommendations of vitamin B12 for normal adults at 2.4 mcg/day, with up to 3 mcg/day for pregnant and lactating women.

Keep in mind these numbers are absolute minimums. Research suggests that average vitamin B12 intake among the U.S. population is ~3.4 mcg/day, clearly above the adequate recommended daily intake. Regardless, due to digestion and absorption issues, disease status, and prescription medication interference, some data suggests a sizable number of the population is B12 deficient.

The typical human body can absorb up to 1.5 mcg of vitamin B12 from food, but supplementation has been shown to allow for higher absorption rates by bypassing the digestive process. Although some will tell you that humans store between 2 to 5 mg of vitamin B12 (mostly in the liver), which can last up to five years in the absence of daily intake, I wouldn’t advise taking that chance.

Are You Vitamin B12 Sufficient or Deficient?

Despite a healthy and balanced diet, physiological (genetics, disease) and environmental (medications for diabetes, etc.) factors can interfere with normal B12 absorption for many people, leading to depletion or outright deficiency.

Blood level testing is the surest diagnostic method to assess if you are B12 deficient. Here is a general guideline to follow to determine whether or not you are vitamin B12 deficient:

180-914 ng/L – Normal high/low range
450+ ng/L – Healthy/Optimal
180-400 ng/L – Conditionally low levels
150-180 ng/L – Low levels where disease symptoms start
Depending on test results and potential concurrent symptoms, other simple follow-up blood tests which indirectly test for B12 status may be suggested, including homocysteine and methylmalonic acid/MMA (levels of these molecules rise when vitamin B12 deficiency-symptoms unfold, testing of which often allows for a more thorough assessment, in conjunction with B12 testing).

Symptoms of Vitamin B12 Deficiency

Below are just some of the overt symptoms of low levels and deficiency of this crucial vitamin.

Pernicious anemia
Neurological impairments such as depression, confusion, disorientation, schizophrenia, ADHD
Memory loss, Alzheimer’s/dementia, Parkinson’s, brain fog, cognitive decline, brain shrinkage
Peripheral neuropathy
Bowel/urinary tract incontinence
Paresthesia (tingling in the limbs)
Loss of balance
Alzheimer’s, dementia, cognitive decline and memory loss
Multiple sclerosis (MS) and other neurological disorders
Mental illness (depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, psychosis)
Cardiovascular disease
Learning or developmental disorders in kids
Autism spectrum disorder
Autoimmune disease and immune suppression
Male and female infertility

Bottom Line

Considering what we know about vitamin B12 and its importance for our health, the simplest and least expensive insurance against vitamin B12 deficiency is supplementation. It’s possible to get enough via diet, but it’s difficult and requires a healthy amount of consistency. A B12 shot is another solution preferred by many and I don’t have much problem with it except that it can get expensive, be difficult to access regularly, and heaven help you if you’re not a fan of needles. Simply supplementing with an absorbable form of B12 like methylcobalamin or adenosylcobalamin can really help fill the gaps in easy fashion.

At holiday time, mistletoe emerges as a plant strategically placed so that those who walk under it must pause to kiss. European, African, Australian, Asian and North American in origin -- and healing in nature -- mistletoe offers both tradition and mystery.

A parasitic plant, mistletoe attaches to limbs or branches of trees, and sets up shop. Through a parasitic fungus connected to its tip, the mistletoe attaches to the host plant, and derives both moisture and nutrients required to grow. In time, mistletoe’s fungal tip penetrates the tissue of the host, thereby deriving nutrients directly from that organism. Growing on as many as two hundred different species of trees and bushes, mistletoe is readily spotted, looking much like a squirrel’s nest.

Over nine hundred species of mistletoe are known, and the plant itself is a source of nourishment for a great many species of animals and birds. The fruits of mistletoe are drupes, that is large seeds with a small amount of fruit around them. These are most typically eaten by birds, who disperse mistletoe when those seeds are excreted.

As a traditional medicine, use of mistletoe dates back to the Druids, who were an intellectual class of Celts during the Iron Age. Among other things, the Druids were known for the ritual of oak and mistletoe, which involved cutting an oak tree, harvesting the mistletoe from the tree, and making a potion of the mistletoe purported to possess broad healing and restorative properties.

From the time of the Druids to the present, mistletoe has played a role in traditional medicine as a remedy for headaches and seizures. Today the leaves, shoots and berries of the mistletoe plant are well known sources of various compounds with cancer-fighting activity.

Four categories of compounds are used as cancer therapies, including alkaloids, polysaccharides, lectins and viscotoxins. From these various agents a range of anti-cancer drugs have been developed, including the products Lektinol, Helixor, Iscador and several other registered cancer drugs. These are most widely employed in European countries, where use of mistletoe for the treatment cancer is fairly common.

Various extracts of mistletoe demonstrate cancer-killing activity. The plant appears to work by enhancing activity of the immune system, and by inhibiting angiogenesis, the process by which cancers develop new blood vessels for nourishment. Anti-angiogenesis, the cutting off of this blood supply, is a powerful approach to fighting cancer.

The U.S. National Institutes of Health  finds fault with several of the mistletoe studies that have been conducted in Europe, and has published the opinion that these studies are not up to high standards. A number of mistletoe studies focus on its use as an adjuvant therapy, taken in the wake of more aggressive chemotherapy. In these scenarios, mistletoe has helped cancer patients to fare better, with fewer adverse effects than without the mistletoe.

Over fifty clinical trials of mistletoe for cancer treatment have been examined by NIH, and the results are somewhat encouraging. Those who are given mistletoe extracts as part of cancer therapy experience improved quality of life, and reduced fatigue, nausea, vomiting and depression after treatment. Rates of survival appear no different among those who receive mistletoe and those who do not.

The long, slow, painful road to approval or denial of drug status in the U.S. inexorably rolls on for mistletoe. Appearing to be far from a miracle cure, mistletoe may play a useful role in cancer treatment. But as of yet the FDA has not approved mistletoe as a cancer medicine, and you cannot legally obtain mistletoe extracts in the U.S. For now, though kissing under the mistletoe is admissible in most places, you still need to travel to Europe to use this plant for cancer.
