1) REIKI AND THE MERIDIANS


Our body is composed not only of physical elements such as muscles, bones, nerves, arteries, organs, glands, etc, but it also has a subtle energy system through which 'life force energy' flows.

This subtle energy system is composed of energy 'bodies' which surround our physical body and assist us in processing our thoughts and emotions. The energy bodies have energy centers called chakras, which work somewhat like valves that allow life force to circulate through the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies.

We also have energy meridians, which are like rivers, or streams which carry our life force energy throughout our physical body, to nourish us and assist in balancing our body’s systems and functions.

The meridians are pathways that subtle energy flows through within the physical body, and contain energy points usually referred to as acupuncture or accupressure points. Each meridian is usually associated with an organ or physical system of the body, and supplies that organ or system with subtle life energy.


The Meridian System


Acupuncturists know about 12 meridian channels which correspond to a certain organ in physical body. When there is disturbance in a meridian channel that links to a specific organ, a potential disease can be detected.

There are two systems of channels or meridians, namely primary and secondary meridians.

Primary meridians pass through internal organs but secondary do not.

There are 12 pairs of primary meridians with Chi flowing in continuous circulation through the following organs: lungs, colon, stomach, spleen, heart, intestines, urinary bladder, kidneys, pericardium, triple warmer, gall bladder and liver.

The primary meridians are named by the organ they are connected to i.e. lung meridian, heart meridian etc.

Almost all points used in acupuncture and acupressure are situated along the primary meridians. Please note that just because the meridians are named according to the organs they pass through, it does not mean that they only correspond to these organs and their functions.

The meridians also consist of complex interrelated systems for the circulation of Chi.


Reiki and the Meridians


Meridians can become blocked, stagnate and start running in the wrong direction which can cause physical and emotional illness.

The Reiki system of healing is a technique for transmitting subtle energy to yourself and others through the hands into the human energy system. Reiki restores energy balance and vitality by relieving the physical and emotional effects of unreleased stress. It gently and effectively opens blocked meridians, and chakras, and clears the energy bodies, leaving one feeling relaxed and at peace.

This means good physical health, which can be maintained.


Note: Information about meridians is not part of the standard Reiki training. During the Reiki treatment, the healing energy will facilitate healing. Any energy healing practitioner, including a Reiki healer, will find it worthwhile to study the meridians.

2) HOW TO EXPERIENCE MORE ENERGY, HEALTH AND YOUTH IN YOUR LIFE!


Do you often feel out of energy especially after your meals?

In fact, it is usually around 3-4 pm (depending on the time you eat your lunch) when you find yourself having difficulty in keeping yourself awake. You feel tired, exhausted and just could not continue with your work.

Recently, I've read something interesting regarding this - the main reason why we experience this way is because excessive energy is needed to digest the food we ate for lunch.

During 3-4 pm, our organs have already worked hard for half a day and with the excess energy needed to digest our lunch, our body naturally needs to take a rest from it.

I used to assume that this is a natural process - we ought to feel lethargic in the afternoon...

But I was so wrong..

The truth is the way you eat our foods, the foods that you put into your mouths, are destructive to your body and health.

For example, do you eat meat and potatoes together? How about milk and cereal, or fish and rice?

Do you know that those combinations are totally destructive to your internal system and rob you of energy?

You might think that this is ridiculous..

Let me explain how these combinations are destructive and how you can save yourself large amounts of energy you may currently be wasting.

Different foods are digested differently - Starchy foods require alkaline digestive medium and proteins foods like meat require and acidic medium for digestion.

And when you mix both together, the medium neutralize each other. Digestion is impaired or completely arrested.

This is very destructive to your body as more energy is require to digest the same amount of food.

So what can you do about it?


The first step I learned was to eat the right food and not mixing the wrong food together. For example, if I am eating starchy foods, I would not eat meat in the same meal. If I am eating meat, I would not include the starchy foods.

If you are thinking whether if this is the right way, why not try it and see if you feel any difference in your body. I have tried it myself and this is the diet that not only you still can eat most of the food, but you will feel much more healthy than ever before.

Apricots have a wonderful aroma, taste terrific and are the stuff still-life paintings are made of. If that isn’t enough to tempt you on the taste of apricots, there are many nutritional (as well as cosmetic) benefits associated with apricots.


Health Benefits of Apricots


Low in calories and a good source of fiber – One apricot has only 17 calories, and because they’re high in fiber, they help you feel full, longer. What a great snack! Fiber can help with digestive issues including preventing constipation, and can help reduce cholesterol levels.
Vitamin A – You’ve heard about carrots being good for your eyes, but how about apricots? Apricots are a good source of vitamin A – a powerful antioxidant. Vitamin A may promote healthy vision and reduce the risk of age-related macular degeneration.
Vitamin C – From boosting the immune system to potentially protecting against cardiovascular disease to wrinkles, experts note that vitamin C is one of the safest and most effective nutrients. Apricots are a great source of vitamin C.
Beta-carotene – Beta-carotene is known to have antioxidant properties, and, you guessed it: apricots are a good source of beta-carotene. According to WebMD, studies show that people who eat a diet high in fruits and vegetables rich in beta-carotene, have a lower risk of some cancers and heart disease.
Good for your skin – You may have lotions or creams made from apricot kernel oil, since it’s great for relieving the effects of dry skin. This oil is quickly absorbed by the skin and does not keep the skin oily when applied.


Buying and serving apricots

When you’re shopping for fresh apricots, consider buying organic. Conventional apricots carry high pesticide residues, as noted by the Organic Consumers Association. When you buy fresh apricots, it’s best to eat them as soon as possible. If you have to store them, keep them refrigerated, but only for a few days.

Most people think about eating apricots as a snack, as part of your daily intake of fruit. That’s a great option, but don’t overlook so many other possibilities of cooking with apricots. You might be thinking of desserts and jams, but there are other recipes that include this golden fruit as part of your meal’s main course.
