Blue: Words and Knowledge

With the blue energy we move away from the physical level onto the more spiritual aspects of life. In so much as, the sky and the ocean gives us the feeling that life is an endless process. The truth about life becomes more and more clear when we get in contact with our own inner self.

Blue is a peaceful and relaxing colour that soothes tired nerves and alleviates the agony and pain we might suffer through physical stress. It has a pacifying effect on the nervous system and brings great relaxation. Despite its calming effect blue is also stimulating, but in a more spiritual level where it is truly uplifting. The nature of the blue energy is to connect human beings with the cosmic universe.

Blue is the colour of the soul, and blue is the colour of the greatest healing power in the world. Blue connects us with the higher power inside of us all. The soul knows the meaning of life, why we are on earth, and the task we are going to complete in our lifetime. Blue is the colour of purity and those who like blue like beauty in any form. Blue is also the most antiseptic colour energy in the world.

The light from the colour is cool and electric. It soothes the eyes and mind. While red is expanding, blue is contracting and calms things down. The colour blue may enable the body to fight infectious diseases.

PHYSICALLY blue gives energy to problems caused by hemorrhoids, warts, climate, and struma. Active children should do their homework in blue light.

The throat chakra is governed by the blue enery. Blue energizes the throat, as it is through the throat we express ourselves-words carry power. Thus, the blue energy is connected with sound and the voice. All teachers, university professors, politicians, actors, singers, sergeants in the army, and anyone who uses their voice in a loud and clear way to express themselves, are using the blue energy.

THE POSITIVE SIDES OF BLUE: fidelity, loyal, tactful, affectionate, inspiring, inventive.

AND THE NEGATIVE: ambitious, disloyal/perfidious, lack of faith, suspicious, apathetic, snobbish, emotionally unstable.


• you need to calm your mind and nerves
• you have throat problems
• you have had bites, bruises or itching
• you cannot sleep
• you have menstruation problems
• you have problems with ears, eyes, nose or throat
• you have had a shock
• you have a fever-put your feet in a tub of blue water

Geranium oil is derived from a herb. It has a lovely refreshing scent and is excellent in a refreshing and relaxing bath. Geranium influences the balancing of the yin-vang principle. When you have a cold, it is mildly stimulating.

Geranium oil, has both a calming and uplifting effect on the nervous system. It helps mouth and throat infections and it is a repellent against insects. It is good for all types of skin, and for eczema, sunburns, and ringworm. It is cleansing, refreshing, and especially good for greasy skin. Add 5-6 drops of Geranium oil to your bath.

Suggestions for other aroma therapy baths are: 2 drops of Rose oil, 4 drops of Geranium oil, and 1 drop of Citronella oil. Or 1 drop of Lemon oil, 3 drops of Geranium oil, and 2 drops of Rosemary oil.

A bath with 6 drops of Rose oil is recommended for all types of skin but particularly good for mature, dry or sensitive skin. Surprisingly, Rose oil is one of the most antiseptic essences. Rose oil is also good in a rose coloured bath.

"Let the blue energy flow through me so that I may give out all that I learn."

Blue is a calming colour and like the colour of green is fine for rooms meant for rest and relaxation. It is a good colour for your bedroom. The expansive expression of the blue colour makes small rooms seem larger and more diffusive.

Singing in the bath really has a fantastic cleansing effect. Water helps cleanse the etheric body and sound will loosen any negative vibrations in the atmosphere that surrounds you. Just don't repeat a Mantra in the bath as it is not safe to bring yourself into a hypnotic state while sitting in the bathtub.

In using blue colours in your clothes you show that you have the ability to diversify. It also has a calming effect. You seem competent and able to tackle any situation. With blue you seem interested in change, freedom, and progress. But with too much blue, it may often seem as if you think you are not tied by ordinary standards of proper behavior.

Plums, blueberries, bramble berries, fish, asparagus, potatoes.

The astrological sign is Sagittarius, and the planet is Jupiter.

Throughout much of recorded history, in the writings and oral traditions of many diverse cultures, people strongly believed in an intelligent heart. As a child, I often was told to go your heart for the answer and listen to your heart. When I did, I often found insight or clarity on a problem I was facing. In Sunday school, teachers talked about the “still, small voice in the heart” and it made sense to me. They never said the “still, small voice in the head,” which often for me was a voice of self-doubt.

As I grew older, I adopted views about intelligence that I learned in school: that the ability to learn, understand, reason, and apply knowledge was a function of the brain in the head. It never occurred to me that the intuitive sense or clarity I gained by listening to my heart had anything to do with my physical heart. So when I read about research into “heart intelligence” I was fascinated.

During the 1960s and ’70s physiologists John and Beatrice Lacey conducted research that showed the heart actually communicates with the brain in ways that greatly affect how we perceive and react to the world around us. Today, more than a half century after the Laceys began their research, we know a great deal more about the intelligent heart:

The heart sends us emotional and intuitive signals to help govern our lives.

The heart directs and aligns many systems in the body so that they can function in harmony with one another. The heart has its own independent complex nervous system known as “the brain in the heart.”

The heart’s independent brain and nervous system relay information to the brain in the cranium, creating a two-way communication system between heart and brain.

The heart makes many of its own decisions.

The heart starts beating in the unborn fetus before the brain has been formed, a process that scientists call autorhythmic.

Human beings form an emotional brain long before a rational one, and a beating heart before either.

Researchers at various institutions began showing in the 1980s and ’90s that success in life depends more on an individual’s ability to effectively manage emotions than on the intellectual ability of the brain in the head. These findings naturally resulted in people wanting to know how to infuse emotions with intelligence.

What is Heart Intelligence?

Doc Childre founded the Institute of HeartMath (IHM) in 1991 to study heart intelligence. Scientists at IHM posed a theory that heart intelligence actually transfers intelligence to the emotions and instills the power of emotional management. In other words, heart intelligence is really the source of emotional intelligence. In the book The HeartMath Solution, written by Doc Childre and his associate and longtime HeartMath spokesman Howard Martin, they explain:

“From our research at the Institute of HeartMath, we’ve concluded that intelligence and intuition are heightened when we learn to listen more deeply to our own heart. It’s through learning how to decipher messages we receive from our heart that we gain the keen perception needed to effectively manage our emotions in the midst of life’s challenges. The more we learn to listen to and follow our heart intelligence, the more educated, balanced and coherent our emotions become. Without the guiding influence of the heart, we easily fall prey to reactive emotions such as insecurity, anger, fear and blame as well as other energy-draining reactions and behaviors.

Early HeartMath research found that negative emotions throw the nervous system out of balance. When that happened, heart rhythms became disordered and appeared jagged on a heart monitor. The heart communicated that disorder to the brain and the result was cortical inhibition. Positive emotions, by contrast, were found to increase order and balance in the nervous system and produce smooth, harmonious heart rhythms that enhanced people’s ability to clearly perceive the world around them.

HeartMath research defines heart intelligence as the flow of awareness, understanding and intuition we experience when the mind and emotions are brought into coherent alignment with the heart. It can be activated through self-initiated practice, and the more we pay attention when we sense the heart is speaking to us or guiding us, the greater our ability to access this intelligence and guidance more frequently. Heart intelligence underlies cellular organization and guides and evolves organisms toward increased order, awareness and coherence of their bodies’ systems.

Today there are dozens of scientific papers on HeartMath’s research in heart intelligence and dozens of universities studying its applications for emotional self-regulation, health, academic performance, intuitive development and more.

Adopting a vegetarian diet can be a fantastic entry into experiencing better health. A vegetarian diet is associated with a higher consumption of fiber, folic acid, vitamins C and E, magnesium, unsaturated fat, and countless phytochemicals. This often results in vegetarians having lower cholesterol, being thinner, having lower blood pressure, and reduced risk of heart disease. Let’s explore some of the other benefits of adopting a vegetarian (or vegan) lifestyle.

1. May Improve Mood
Arachidonic acid is a substance that usually comes from dietary animal sources and, no surprise, vegetarian diets are not high in arachidonic acid. This can be beneficial, as research has shown a link between arachidonic acid and mood disturbances. Researchers at Benedictine University performed a study to investigate the impact of restricting animal products and mood and confirmed that mood improvements do happen when eating meat, fish, and poultry are restricted. Additionally, Croatia’s Institute for Medical Research and Occupational Health conducted mental health surveys amongst vegetarians and found them to have lower levels of neuroticism.

2. May Improve Symptoms of Psoriasis
Psoriasis is an inflammatory skin disease that causes skin redness and irritation and can be debilitating for those who suffer from it. However, according to research published by Brazil’s Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, a vegetarian diet may positively improve symptoms.

3. May Reduce Incidence of Diabetes
According to Loma Linda University School of Public Health, vegetarian diets are associated with a significant reduction in the incidence of diabetes. [4] Information published by George Washington University School of Medicine has also confirmed that vegetarian diets offer an important benefit for the management of diabetes and can even reduce the likelihood of development by one half.

4. Reduces Risk of Cataract Development
Oddly enough, research released by the Nuffield Department of Clinical Medicine at the University of Oxford has shown a strong relation between the risk of developing cataracts and diet; with a higher risk falling on meat eaters and the lowest risk groups being vegetarians and vegans.

5. Reduces Risk of Cardiovascular Disease
According to the JCU University Skin Cancer Research Clinic, there is a relationship between a vegetarian diet and decreased risk of cardiovascular disease. Why? Most vegetarian diets are full of antioxidant rich foods. Antioxidants are molecules that can reduce the damage caused by oxidative stress, including atherosclerosis.

6. Vegetarians Usually Have Low Cholesterol
There’s no health benefit, at all, to eating animal fat. It should come as no surprise that when you remove it from your diet, you will also remove the detrimental effects it has on your health life. After examining the long term effects of following a vegetarian diet, Korean researchers very comfortably concluded that body fat, and cholesterol levels were lower in vegetarians than omnivores.

7. Less Risk of Stroke and Obesity
There are always exceptions but, in general, vegetarians and vegans tend to be much more deliberate in their food choices and far less likely to binge eat or choose foods based on emotions- two habits that greatly contribute to obesity. According to the University Hospital Ghent Department of Paediatrics in Belgium, following a vegetarian diet is a good way to reduce your chance at having a stroke or being obese.

8. Less Chance of Developing Kidney Stones
New York University Langone Medical Center reports that eliminating animal protein consumption in favor of vegetables will result in a higher urine pH; whereas low urine pH has been associated with stone formation.

9. It Can Satisfy All Your Nutritional Requirements
If you think vegetarians and vegans are nutritionally deficient or always hungry, think again! The official position of The American Dietetic Association is that a comprehensive and well designed vegetarian, or vegan, diet can be nutritionally sound and appropriate for all ages and stages of life, including infants, the elderly, and even athletes. Good health, reduced incidence of disease, and correction of existing health problems are all associated with following a vegetarian diet. [11
