1) WHAT IN THE WORLD IS GOING ON?
Many changes are happening in our world. We see it in the outside world, as the stock market changes, businesses fail and layoffs occur. We are also experiencing internal changes, whether we recognize it or not. Old form is falling away as new form is being created.
Metaphysically, we are all undergoing momentous changes, a shift in consciousness, an expansion through which we are experiencing our world and our lives in a new way. This new way allows, even demands, that we consider the good of all in our decisions and in our lives. We are moving from a state of self-consciousness to what is called unity consciousness. During this transition, we are undergoing great changes, although we may not fully understand them or know what they mean.
Changes like the ones we are seeing in our outer world are also going on inside our bodies. The old form we used to know as ourselves is dissolving, and a new level of understanding or perception is taking its place. The result may be a loss of a sense of self that can be terrifying, if we do not understand what is happening. We may feel disoriented, experience lapses in time, or have difficulty concentrating or remembering things. We may have crying spells for no apparent reason, or find ourselves reviewing issues we thought we had dealt with long ago.
As the body cleanses physically, we may experience a variety of symptoms that are not only uncomfortable, but may mimic a disease process. We may wonder if we are losing it, developing a serious disease or if we are going to die.
A death of sorts is occurring —the death of old consciousness. Because death is so greatly misunderstood in our culture, we fear it and resist it. The same is true of this process, until we come to understand that there really is no death, only transformation from one state to another. The good news is that right underneath that which is falling away lies something else: our Real Self. It will emerge after we have dealt with all of our fears and have released all that is false.
On a spiritual level, we are embodying a bigger sense of ourselves. We are much more than our physical bodies, but to understand this, we must experience it. As we do so, we begin to see reality from a larger perspective. We are not distinct and separate entities, but part of a larger collective consciousness. We are that consciousness in physical form.
From this larger perspective, we see that everything depends on everything else — and that in making selfish decisions that have a positive effect on us, but affect others negatively, we will only wind up destroying ourselves.
On the physical level, many symptoms may occur as the body physically dissolves the old form. Emotional states also may be deepened and exaggerated. We may experience changes in perception of time, while memory may be fading. So what will assist us during this process of change? The first thing is to rest assured in our understanding of what is really happening and to reframe our experience. We are not sick, we are transforming. We are not losing ourselves, we are gaining more of ourselves.
The second step is to surrender to the process and get help to deal with the symptoms from holistic and spiritual practitioners who also understand the reality of what is happening.
As our old structures break down, we may need the physical support of herbs, minerals, vitamins or structured water to release the toxins or byproducts of catabolism that are building up. We may need to change our diets or take different nutritional supplements to support our new energy levels. We may require energy work or psychotherapy to deal with the emotional or spiritual issues that have surfaced.
As each change occurs universally, we must integrate it personally through the different levels of our energy fields, or else the process may become a difficult one in which we experience suffering. The restructuring and release of cellular debris on the physical level can facilitate immediate relief and balance in the body. Exaggerated emotional states can be released quite quickly and easily through the unitive process of finding the root and healing it across time. On the mental level, certain thought forms which are holding us back may need to be recognized and cleared.
We are experiencing a shift in consciousness. We might as well surrender to it, because it is happening.
2) CHAKRACISES: ACTIVATE YOUR ENERGY CENTERS
The following actions help get your chakras functioning optimally.
The crown chakra is associated with the color violet or white. This chakra, when functioning optimally, allows inner communications with our spiritual nature to flow naturally. When the crown chakra is open, it invites energies from the Universal Life Force. From there, the invited energies can be dispersed proportionally downward into the lower six chakras housed below it. This chakra is often depicted as a lotus flower with its petals open to represent spiritual awakening. I view the crown chakra as a bottomless well from which intuitive knowledge can be drawn.
Indicators that the crown chakra is not functioning optimally: Stuck in the past, Faithlessness, Feeling of disconnect from the world in general
Chakracises: Prayer, Meditation
The brow chakra (aka the third eye) is associated with the color indigo. Our mental calculations and thinking processes are functions of this chakra. Our ability to distinguish reality from fantasy or delusion is connected to the healthfulness of this chakra.
Indicators that the brow chakra is not functioning optimally: Lofty thinking, Paranoia, Poor judgement, False sense of reality
Chakracises: Visualization, Remote Viewing, Lucid Dreaming
The throat chakra is associated with the color sky-blue. The healthfulness of this chakra is signified by how openly and honestly a person expresses himself or herself. A challenge to the throat chakra is to express ourselves in the most truthful manner. Falsehoods and half-truths energetically pollute the throat chakra. Repressing our anger or displeasure by ignoring our feelings through evasive sweet talk, or silence, will manifest into throat imbalances such as strep throat, laryngitis, speech impediments, and so on.
Indicators that the throat chakra is not functioning optimally: Dishonesty, Overt wariness of outside influences, Speaking vulgarities, Biting your tongue (figuratively speaking) Chakracises: Gargling with salt water, Singing, Screaming
The heart chakra is associated with the color green. This chakra is considered to be the love center of our human energy system. Among others, love, heartbreak, grief, pain, and fear, are all emotions that are felt intensely within this energy vortex. Learning self-love is a powerful initiative to undertake in order to secure and maintain a healthy heart chakra.
Indicators that the heart chakra is not functioning optimally: Trust issues, Lack of confidence, Depression, Heartbreak Chakracises: Push Ups, Swimming (breast stroke), Hugging Yourself
The solar plexus chakra is associated with the color yellow. Our egos and intuitions reside in this space. Our personal self-esteem is reflected by the healthfulness or lack of healthfulness of this chakra. Experiencing difficulty maintaining your personal power likely signifies that your third chakra is damaged or compromised. This intuitive chakra is also the source from which we get those "gut feelings" that signal us to take action or to avoid something. When this chakra is functioning optimally our intuitive skills are enhanced.
Indicators that the solar plexus chakra is not functioning optimally: Feeling overwhelmed or crowded, ultra-sensitivity, fearful of life in general
Chakracises: Belly dancing, Doing the Twist, Hoola Hooping
The sacral chakraa is associated with the colors orange and red-orange. This chakra often offers us the opportunity to acknowledge our issues regarding control, especially in relationship with others. A well-functioning second chakra helps a person maintain a healthy yin-yang existence. Although the sacral chakras is primarily considered the sexual center, it is also where individual creativity is birthed from. If you are seeking motivation for a project, focus on charging up this chakra, it will give launch to your ideas.
Indicators that the sacral chakra is not functioning optimally: sexual dysfunction, blocked creativity, feeling of powerlessness Chakracises: Circular pelvis movements, Pelvic thrusts
The root chakra is associated with the color red. This chakra is the grounding force that allows us to connect to grounding energies and empowers our life force. It is through this chakra that the child feels a strong connection with its birth mother and also bonding with its nuclear family. Our survival instincts spring forth through this vortex. Indicators that the root chakra is not functioning optimally: confusion, distraction, aloofness Chakracises: Stomping your feet, Marching, Squats
Our auras are like magnets picking up vibrational energies that are floating around everywhere we go. It is important to cleanse our auras freeing them of foreign vibrations and negative energies.
Indicators that your aura needs cleansing: fatigue, shallow breathing, irritation or agitation, feeling cornered or boxed in.
Chakracises: Shower, soak in epsom salt bath, smudge with sage wand, deep cleansing breaths.
3) 7 HEALTHY FOODS THAT CAUSE INFLAMATION
Most of us try to incorporate healthy foods into our diet. Lean proteins and healthy fats are good additions; added sugar, and processed foods are best avoided. Although the nutritional value of food, in that respect, is important, it’s also important to understand that different foods contain different compounds that can cause other results within our bodies beyond the typical conversion to energy. Specifically, inflammation can be caused by a number of foods. Although it may not surprise you to know that “unhealthy” food can cause inflammation, it might shock you to learn that a number of healthy foods can be inflammation-causing-culprits as well.
Yogurt is often thought of as a healthy breakfast option, and it certainly can be, but it’s important to check the label. Many yogurts are nutritionally equivalent to ice cream and full of fat with lots of sugar. Sugar can cause inflammation and other obvious health consequences such as weight gain. Choose a yogurt that doesn’t have added sugar. Greek yogurt tastes great and can be a good choice, although it tends to have less calcium. Also consider yogurts with probiotics, as these can have digestive benefits.
What? Really? Well, sometimes. Tomatoes belong to a group of plants known as nightshades, which also includes white potatoes and red and green peppers. Tomatoes are a beautiful, delicious, and seemingly harmless fruit, unless you have a sensitivity to solanine. For those folks, eating tomatoes can lead to inflammation that makes arthritic joints sore, encourages the growth of tumors, and increases the risk of developing heart disease.
It’s been hammered into our lexicon that wheat is the healthy alternative to white bread, and that can be true, but usually isn’t. Wheat comes with its own set of health concerns. Why? Because it’s been engineered that way. In an effort to increase wheat production, scientists have genetically modified the wheat we eat so that 5 percent of its proteins are completely unique. Consequently, this unnatural tampering with nature has resulted in many people suffering from wheat allergies and associated inflammation.
4. Citrus Fruits
Most people don’t have a problem with citrus fruits like oranges, mangoes and pineapples, in fact, they enjoy their many benefits. However, for those who have what’s known as a citrus allergy, citrus fruits can cause inflammation and contribute to the development of chronic diseases. If citrus allergies affect you, try tart cherries instead, which have the highest anti-inflammatory content of any food, according to research from the Oregon Health & Science University.
Nuts are full of good fats and can be one of the healthiest and most nutritious food choices available. But if you suffer from osteoarthritis, the histamine in nuts can actually attack your joints and cause painful inflammation. If you find yourself hurting while doing simple tasks after eating nuts, you may want to cut them out of your diet!
Everyone loves oats. Fat-free, high in fiber – what’s not to love? Unfortunately for some people, eating oats can lead to a chain reaction that causes inflammation. For people with celiac disease, their body will incorrectly interpret the proteins in oats as dangerous, leading to the creation of antibodies to fight them. These unnecessary antibodies lead to histamine production that results in inflammation, similar to nuts.
A number of varieties of rice are extremely healthy and offer many benefits. However, highly processed white rice, and refined carbohydrates in general, is void of nutrition and can cause inflammation since it quickly turns into sugar within the body.
